Pink Lily Repurposed Vintage Necklace
This lovely repurposed necklace is the definition of "pretty in pink"!
The centerpiece is a vintage, celluloid, repurposed dress or fur clip depicting (I think) water lilies. From that I wire-wrapped with gold-filled wire, a little trio of beads including a tiny Swarovski crystal rondelle, a vintage faceted pinkish bead and a tiny gold-filled stardust bead and attached it to a vintage repurposed bar pin that has a perfect patina with pink and rhinestones!
That repurposed bar pin is wire-wrapped with more beads (as described above) to a very unusual repurposed pin. It has an amazing deep rose color and the top bar was blank like it was meant to be engraved. I attached a vintage pink corrugated domed glass cabochon to that space. From the original pin is a chained round monogrammed piece. I can't easily tell what letter they are but it doesn't matter, does it? I'd guess a D and a V but it's just so cool it makes no difference!
The "chain" is made up of many special components including: more wire-wrapped groupings of the beads as described above; 10 links, 5 on each side, of an AMAZING vintage cut glass (crystal?) choker in a deep rose color that is beyond belief. (I paid a small fortune for the original choker and am hoarding the other links for later. It's a quality piece and the shape and color of these links are spectacular.); vintage rose connectors; and a very unusual vintage watch chain.
The clasp is a watch chain clasp and from that I hung an amazing foil-backed, flat-backed, rose glass leaf!
Overall length from top of clasp to bottom of round monogrammed component is approx. 11 1/2".
Pretty in pink, indeed.
