Luck Be a Lady Tonight Vintage Repurposed NecklaceWhether you're Irish or need some luck or are lucky, this vintage, repurposed necklace will rock
your world!
The main pendant piece, the cluster of 4-leaf clovers, is repurposed from 1/2 of a Victorian buckle! It is over 2" in diameter and is highly detailed and simply amazing. Below that piece I dangled what used to be a 4-leaf clover pin with sweet etched borders and is now, in the spirit of upcycling and repurposing, not a pin any longer. Moving up the chain are lucky #7 brass charms that used to be window screen/storm window reminders(!); assorted silver beads and scattered along this piece and interspersed between vintage, clear, rhinestone connectors, Swarovski crystal rhinestone balls and more. The lucky elephants (trunk is in the upright position which signifies "good luck") came from a vintage, French bracelet and I used 4 components on the necklace to for the "chain" and for the clasp. The are gorgeous and so detailed and are attached to the links with tiny prongs on the back so they are somewhat 3-D (but you don't need those butt-ugly glasses to appreciate it!) As we get closer to the clasp are vintage, 4-leaf clover connectors (my last two..can you hear the sobs as I type this?); sterling silver filigree connectors from an Italian necklace and Italian bracelet and ending with the elephant clasp. From the clasp I hung some VERY special charms: a sterling (stamped) and green guilloche enamel 4-leaf clover, a vintage green enamel dice charm that says "Luck", a rabbit's foot charm, a wishbone charm and on the other side a tiny vintage horseshoe charm. Lucky is the person who snags this sucker! Total length from top of clasp to bottom of clover dangle is approx. 13 1/2" and adjustable to about 14 1/2". |
