Delegate George Vintage Repurposed Buckle BraceletI try to tell a story with my jewelry. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes...not so much. But, when I start with a vintage "delegate" badge, it's a piece o' cake!
This repurposed delegate badge from some long ago meeting belonged to Delegate Geo. Van Zandt. He apparently was Delegate 281. From the bottom of that badge I wire-wrapped two gold-filled stardust beads and a faceted garnet gemstone bead to pick up the red in "281". Below that is a stellar and stunning vintage repurposed rhinestone shoe buckle. I adore the shape of the buckle and how the bottom almost mimics the shape of the badge. Moving up from the delegate bade are two vintage red glass marquis-shaped connectors which I attached to Swarovski crystal circles. The chain is a double, vintage chain with the original clasp. I love it when stuff works out like this. Overall length from clasp to bottom of buckle is approx. 12". |
