Buckle Down Repurposed Vintage BraceletOkay. I'm a sucker, (SUCKER) for vintage, French steel cut buckles. So, in case you don't know what I'm talking about, that center piece was a shoe buckle. Before I cut off the back of the buckle it said "France" on the back, as in "Made in...". Fashionable women of the day wore these on their shoes to dress them up. So, yes, they came in pairs! (Lucky, lucky me!). Each little nailhead is riveted on and none are missing on this beauty. I love that they are slightly curved which hugs your wrist as you wear it and it won't spin around!
Flanking that amazing buckle are 2 components from a repurposed vintage souvenir bracelet that I wire-wrapped with silvery gemstone and sterling pearl beads. This was the clasp from a bracelet that depicts scenes of famous European cities. The little flowers are just too sweet for words. The chain that makes this bracelet adjustable from approx. 6' to almost 8' is a fabulous sterling silver with clover links and ends with a giant, rhinestone vintage button! Ta da. |
